Not to be mistaken with online dating app Tinder, TiNDLE is a plant-based chicken brand started by homegrown food tech company Next Gen Foods. While meat-free proteins, from Impossible Foods to Beyond Meat, are a common sight on restaurant menus these days, this new brand claims to be the only plant-based chicken on the market that has been developed with chefs, for chefs.

Riding the wave of plant-based meats, TiNDLE Thy is made with simple non-GMO and non-novel ingredients. Comprising just nine ingredients, including water, soy, sunflower oil, and coconut fat, the plant-based chicken doesn’t come with any nasties. While it’s free of cholesterol, sugars, and trans-fat, every 100 grams contains 17 grams of protein.

The health-conscious will be happy to know that aside from being antibiotic- and hormone-free, the chicken has also been certified by Singapore’s Health Promotion Board as a Healthier Choice option, with less saturated fat and sodium than other plant-based alternatives available in the Lion City. Compared to the real deal, the plant-based chicken uses 74 percent less land, 82 percent less water, as well as produces 88 percent less greenhouse gas emissions.

Jean Madden, CMO of Next Gen Foods said: “We’re confident that TiNDLE is the only plant-based chicken that is versatile enough to be used across a multitude of cuisines and dishes. If chefs are happy with TiNDLE, then we’re very sure customers will be too.”

If you’re hankering for a taste, mark your calendar for its March 18 launch across 11 restaurant brands including Three Buns, Privé, The Market Grill, and The Goodburger.

At Three Buns, four TiNDLE dishes will be available on the menus at both Keong Saik Street and The Quayside outlets, including The Big Cease, an indulgent buttermilk fried TiNDLE fillet topped with a creamy Caesar sauce in a toasted bun. Meanwhile, Privé will serve the TiNDLE Katsu Curry, featuring a crispy breaded TiNDLE cutlet in aromatic Japanese curry, paired with apple-edamame-corn salsa and steamed brown rice. For a hearty snack, check out The Market Grill’s TiNDLE Chicken Strudel with chestnuts, mushrooms, and carrot purée encased in puff pastry.

Those working in the Central Business District can keep an eye out for Instagram-famous food truck The Goodburger, which will offer a What the Cluck! TiNDLE burger at Raffles Place’s Ocean Financial Center on March 18, 19, 22, and 23 from 11 am until 3 pm, or until sold out).
