Take your favourite spinning class experience home with the CRU TV Bike, along with complimentary virtual classes and a set of weights. By SAMANTHA FRANCIS.
Yoga and HIIT classes may have moved online due to the tightening of COVID-19 restrictions, but when it comes to indoor cycling, it’s not quite the same experience unless you have a spin bike.
Homegrown fitness and lifestyle group CRU68, which owns popular indoor cycling studio CruCycle, has unveiled a custom spinning bike for students to continue working out from the comfort of their homes. Called the CRU TV Bike, it comes packaged with a 12-month CRU TV membership and a set of weights. Priced at S$3,800, the bikes are designed with a 21.5-inch touchscreen that rotates 180 degrees so that users can transit effortlessly from cycling to cardio and strength exercises on the floor.
To help students attain their fitness goals, the bike screen comes with a stats page that allows them to track progress. Features include a power meter to measure distance, magnetic resistance modulation for low maintenance, a power meter to measure distance, power output, and cadence, post-workout statistics, as well as handlebars that boost spring lift assist for easy height adjustment.
The bike syncs with CRU TV, the company’s online fitness subscription programme that offers a variety of classes across categories like spin, boxing, HIIT, yoga, and meditation. New content is uploaded every week to keep things fresh.
Excited to get your hands on one? Pre-orders for the bike start on June 7 here. To mark the launch of the CRU TV Bike and the accompanying app, a 50-minute live virtual charity bike ride will be happening on June 11. Proceeds from the charity ride will go to Food From The Heart, a non-profit organisation that donates food items to the less fortunate in Singapore.
While many indoor cycling studios in Singapore currently offer the option of bike rental or purchase, the CRU TV Bike makes a good choice if you’re looking to invest in home-based spin classes on a long-term basis.
